Mini March Madness Game Rules

First Game starts at 2:20 pm

Final Game Starts at 5:20 pm

All three courts will be used

Each school will play two games, after all teams have played top four teams advance to single elimination bracket play.

No Losers bracket

Settling Ties for Playoff Contention

  • First Metric we go to is if the teams played each other whoever won the head to head matchup will move

  • Second Metric if that doesn’t settle it is ratio of the total points scored minus points allowed determine the teams who advance

  • Last Metric would be Sudden Death Game first bucket wins and moves on

No more than 10 players on each team

  • This is important for your own team’s sack. If you have more than 10, your players won’t get adequate playing time and your team will probably suffer because of it.

Games are Two 10-minute halves switch and start the second half with no resting no huddle. These games are fast and quick.

Switch Baskets at the ten-minute mark

Running Clock

No times outs

The game rules are played just as a normal regular game would be played and are as follows:

Jump ball between the teams starts the game

Made basket are 2 points

Unlimited substitutions can be made during any dead ball.

Ball is taken out of bounds near the spot it went out

Ball size is 28.5 for Girls and 29.5 for Boys

No Full court pressing. Defense can play at half court.

Teams have 8 seconds to get the ball across half court.

There are back court violations.

No bonus situations in any games excessive fouling will lead to ejection. We all want to win but this is about keeping the game clean and fun!

At 10 team fouls per half we shoot free throws teams have 5 seconds to shoot each of there shots when handed the ball no stalling. It’s on the refs to manage this.

All non shooting fouls are out of bounds

Shooting fouls are one free throw if you make it, it’s worth 2 points.

Excessive fouls from any team will result in removal from the game

If it gets out of hand and players are fouling intentionally then the referee will make a call to award the other team two points

The lines that are painted are not a regulation free throw, whatever lines are on the courts , that's where players will shoot from.

All games are running time, and the clock does not stop for any reason

Any unsportsmanlike conduct rough play/excessive fouling/cursing/trash talk will lead to ejection
